Dr. Helena R. Asamoah-Hassan, University Librarian, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, has received the IFLA (International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions) Medal for “ significant contribution made to IFLA and international librarianship through her work in building bridges across Africa and between African countries and the rest of the world”. This was at the IFLA World Library and Information Congress held in Helsinki, Finland from 8-17 August 2012.
